UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC is a medical facility, the history of which dates back to 1994. For more than 15 years, the founder of our clinic, Professor Alexander Smikodub Sr., headed the clinic, developing and introducing unique methods of stem cell treatment. Now his son, Dr. Alexander Smikodub Jr., continues this unique treatment begun by his father. Over 25 years of clinic's work, about 10 000 transplantations of fetal stem cells have been performed. Our treatment has helped extend life expectancy, improve life quality and in many cases completely cure thousands of patients from all over the world, who have lost any hope of recovery.

UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC professionals provide comprehensive treatment using fetal stem cells for severe acquired and hereditary diseases caused by or resulting in cell count reduction. History of the clinic
UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC has a glorious history associated with the invention of medicinal preparations based on fetal stem cells and their clinical use. Here we were the pioneers and remain the leaders.
The scientific potential of our center is the vast knowledge and experience of our specialists and staff, it is a huge amount of information published all over the world, it is a large number of reports and lectures at various congresses and conferences, it is scientific degrees and dissertations defended by our employees.
Until 2011, specialists of our center headed by Professor Alexander Smikodub Sr. and later by his son Dr. Alexander Smikodub Jr., provided medical services to patients from all over the world under the EmCell trademark. In June 2011, the company EmCell Embryonic Tissue Center Ltd. was divided between its owners according to their shares. Dr. Alexander Smikodub Jr. restructured his clinical base into a separate clinic with well-developed infrastructure and a modern laboratory. The clinic continues to provide its services under the new brand name - UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC. Despite all the reorganization processes, our medical institution has a long scientific history, tich clinical experience and thousands of grateful patients we helped.

Biotechnology of stem cell isolation and storage
UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC uses modern methods isolation, production and storage of fetal stem cells. We isolate medicinal preparations based on fetal cell suspensions, test them and use for treatment and scientific researches. The creation of medicines based on fetal cell suspensions and treatment of patients in the same institution is a perfect combination that allows us to be confident in the high quality of cell transplants and to achieve the most positive treatment results.
Biotechnological stages of work with medicinal preparations based on fetal cell suspension are the following:

UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC owns a modern cell suspension bank with high-tech equipment. It includes modern Dewar flasks and cryogenic banks (tanks) of large volumes with tens of thousands of fetal cell suspensions samples.
Patents
The clinic has a license for all the methods of stem cell treatment developed by Alexander Smikodub Sr., Alexander Smikodub Jr., and its other specialists as part of EmCellCenter. All the methods are protected by the patents of Ukraine, Russia, the USA and other countries. At present, a number of patent applications on fetal stem cells for different diseases and conditions treatment are pending in the patent offices of many countries. Patenting has always been a priority direction in the activity of UNIQUE CELL TREATMENT CLINIC. Alexander Smikodub Sr. was the first person in the world to describe post-transplantation period after fetal stem cell treatment for such diseases as AIDS, HIV-infection, type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus, aplastic anemia, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, degenerative diseases of nervous system, inflammatory and cancer bowel diseases, etc.
In 1993, the International Patent Application Examination Board in the Hague awarded Professor Smikodub’s patents level "A", that is absolutely innovative works.
In his patents, Professor Smikodub described the possibility of treatment for a large number of diseases and conditions caused by or resulting in cell count reduction. We are most proud of Doctor Smikodub’s patents granted in the United States of America and the Netherlands.
Professor Smikodub was the first in the world to offer medicinal preparations based on fetal stem cells and mentioned this in his US, Dutch, Russian and Ukrainian patents. We believe that in the nearest future fetal cell suspensions in the form of medicinal preparations will be available in specialized drugstores for treatment in inpatient or outpatient departments.

Scientific activities
Our scientific work belongs to the modern branch of science called cell therapy. We gave our definition of this branch of science. Cell therapy is the science of stem cells and their clinical application.
It was in the 1990s that we realized that this was the science of the method. It is enough to see the main indication for its use - different cell count reduction resulted from the disease – and you can be sure that in this case cell therapy will be effective.
Almost all severe acquired and hereditary diseases cause the destruction of actively functioning cells. Stem cells capable of proliferation (multiplication), differentiation (specialization) and morphogenesis (tissue formation) are effective for tissue and organ function and cell count restoration.
Stem cells of fetal origin are the most effective in achieving the above-mentioned effects as they have the highest proliferative potential. Our clinical observations have shown how unique the method is.
Since 1991, 7 MMS theses were written by postgraduate students and teachers of the Therapy Chair of the National Medical University of Ukraine for whom Professor Alexander Smikodub Sr. was a scientific advisor.
The range of our scientific interests has been wide: clinical researches and working out of treatment methods for type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus, AIDS, HIV-infection, leukosis, aplastic anemia, primary and secondary thrombocytopenia, cytostatic myelodepression, oncological diseases, degenerative diseases of central nervous system, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, muscular dystrophies, thermal injuries of various localization; such conditions as menopause, infertility, aging, as well as functional disturbances of internal organs, chronic fatigue syndrome, application of fetal stem cell suspensions in surgical practice, etc.
